OUR PHILOSOPHY
Viotti architects is a design studio that prides itself on collaborating with their clients to generate creative and functional design solutions. The collaboration process is one that informs and educates the client based their wishes and budget. This type of process produces designs that meet and/or exceed the client’s needs and expectations. This process has produced amazing long-term relationships with our clients. So much so that since we opened our doors in 1994 our clients are either by referral or repeat. We feel that with each completed project our family gets a little larger.
Whether we are doing a small bathroom remodel, second story addition or a new residence, the same amount of attention is given to circulation patterns, function, orientation, alignment and budget. We have found over the years that good design takes time and with a good thought out design, each succeeding step is a little easier.

OUR TEAM
RAYNOLD VIOTTI
principal & FOUNDER
Ray Viotti was born and raised on the San Francisco Peninsula and received a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Ray founded his architecture practice in 1994 after working for a local architect and general contractor. While in school he worked in commercial construction on structural concrete buildings.
Ray is inspired by classical style architecture, anywhere Frank Lloyd Wright to Mies van der Rohe. He is inspired by design that has layers of detailing as well as the ones that have none. It is the thought process behind both of these that inspire him. Ray does not specialize in a particular design style but is versatile and adaptable to the unique aspects of each site and client preference.
Having only started traveling later in life, Ray is inspired even more by the architecture he experiences. Whether it is Chicago’s skyscrapers or Rome’s Colosseum, it is seeing and walking through the buildings that always raise the question of, “What inspired/guided them to do….?”
Having lived and worked on the peninsula all his life Ray has served on advisory boards in San Carlos and was a consultant with the Town of Woodside. When not working or meeting with clients Ray enjoys being outside, either, mountain biking, photography or water skiing. When not doing these three locally he and his wife are usually planning a trip to mountain bike or ski somewhere new and possibly requiring a flight.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY
“Architecture is a combination of art and functionality. When you are able to keep the art in the forefront and maintain function, you can create timeless spaces.”
PABLO VALLE
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
Pablo Valle has been on the Viotti Architects team for 6 years. He received his Bachelors of Architecture degree from (SCI-Arc) Southern California Institute of Architecture in Downtown Los Angeles. While at SCI-Arc, Pablo spent a semester studying in Vico Morcote, Switzerland. Experiencing Swiss Architecture first-hand — with its respect and openness toward materials in their purest form — unlocked new avenues for Pablo to explore architecture, not as what it is, but what it could be.
Since joining Viotti Architects, Pablo has spearheaded the office transition to 3D-Modeling. Pablo is able to bring ideas and sketches to life while creating vivid spaces unique to each project. He is able to develop the design and constructability simultaneously to create a project that closely follow the client’s wishes.
Pablo enjoys traveling in his free time. His most recent trip took him to Japan. He was impressed by the Japanese culture and their willingness to put the interest of others above their own. These travel experiences reveal themselves in Pablo’s design: Each client is unique, he takes care to understand each client’s needs to create a design that they will continue to cherishing for years to come. 3 Must-Do’s while traveling: biking, kayaking and eating his way through a city. His itinerary usually involves planning where to have the next local meal and finding inspiring architecture.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY
“What I appreciate the most is the learning process during each project. It enables me to grow as a designer and person, and allows me take those experiences onto the next project.”
